Selleck was the main character in numerous TV films during the new millennium. They included the Jesse Stone series in which he played the role of a New England police chief. The role earned Selleck an Emmy nomination and he was the film's executive producer. Selleck is also a police commissioner who is part of a family of multigenerational of police officers in the drama Blue Bloods that debuted on CBS in 2010.Selleck was eventually able to return to the big screen for the second time.
