Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He was a member of One Direction. Harry Styles was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on February 1st, 1994. He's also the child of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. There, three classmates of his made up a group of musicians called White Eskimo. In 2009, they took part in the Battle of Bands where thanks for their amazing performances they won. The musician always had an interest in music. However, he wanted to become an attorney or a physical therapy. He was employed in a local bakery as a part-time job to help the family with financial issues. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition where he sang the Stevie Wonder's track Is not She Lovely. His band was forced to break up due to the fact that they were selected. Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles to be member of the new group, One Direction. The other members were Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored the young group in 2010. They performed tracks like My Life Would Suffer Without You from Kelly Clarkson, and Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Bonnie Tyler during the contest. It made them one of the contenders for the top prize. The group was placed in third position after Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle and won. Harry Styles, his group and Cowell did not win the competition. However, Cowell granted Harry Styles a 2 million dollars contract with Syco.
