Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story is a mix of football scholarships for his parents and a commitment to the community. The first line of his family was that his father was the youngest of nine kids who were raised by Eufala with Lucious Selmon. Two football. He is one of the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. Three brothers were All-America. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the USA. He won two championships and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter. In his role as an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received an award for his third year in the year 1975. Selmon received his bachelor's diploma in education. Fourth year of the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. After graduation, he moved to Tampa and played nine years for Tampa's Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro 3 times. Then he started his professional career. In 1988, while working as an account liaison officer for First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. So it's not surprising that in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's 10 outstanding young men. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds as a college player he was captain of the team in 1975. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993, as associate director of sports. He has been inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
